“Idrijske Kuzle was one the most important bands of the first post-Pankrti wave, a rare well-coordinated and striking protagonist of the first New Rock and the first punk compilation “It Is Beautiful …”; with Vahid it also pioneered the “čefur” (a derogatory term for people of the other Yugoslav republics) theme. It is high time they get their deserved place in the story of punk in Slovenia.”

“Besides mercury mine, dumplings, lace, first science and technology high school and first theater in Slovenia, punk is yet another feature of Idrija that would be impossible without the groups Kuzle and Šund. “In the first generation of punk bands the group Kuzle, like Indust Bag, stood out with its edginess and vigor. Despite the raw and unaccomplished sound of a young band in was clear – largely because of a sense for melody and exquisite solo moments – that it has a well developed sense for a good song and genuine punk rock sound. Among all the punk bands Kuzle were the sharpest and had a great potential for music development, which due to the short existence of the band could not reach its full swing. The sound itself was convincing, but was left forgotten and neglected after the disintegration of the band, even though a large number of copyright songs speaks volumes about its creativity. With the exception of one compilation the bend left no available recordings, so apart from the samples of its music we had no usable recording neither any recorded songs worth mentioning. This LP is therefore an attempt to resurrect a bunch of good songs from oblivion, even though they were recorded years later by much more experienced and mature people. It will without doubt contribute to better understanding of the musical side of the band at the time. Its contribution to developments in contemporary subculture in Idrija and, with that, in Slovenia at the time of punk, is part of the past, but the music remains.”
